City Inspectors are responsible for reviewing building plans.
They are supposed to make sure all is built the way it's supposed to be. LAMC 91.104 tells us how making false statements to the Department is punishable by a misdemeanor. Article 1 of the Building Code goes on to tell us what regulations must be met to warrant the issuing of a permit;
all just meaningless words to Los Angeles City Officials.

The careless issuing of these permits combined with lack of enforcement continues to result in illegal demolitions, illegal building, the release of toxins into peoples homes and environment, major disruption to otherwise quiet streets, increasing traffic, increasing crime and employees with not a care in the world as to how you feel about it or how much you're affected.
Employees are indemnified by the city which means when we sue, they are completely unaffected. We are working on ways to hold them accountable.

Cultural-Heritage Commission
The Cultural Heritage Commission is responsible for reviewing & considering properties that have been submitted for Historical designation status.
It is their job to determine whether or not the nominated property meets the Cultural Heritage Ordinance.
Before going in front of the CHC, nominations are received by and scheduled by the Office of Historic Resources.
This staff of two, sometimes three is run by an architect and senior city planner; neither of which are equipped with the knowledge or background to make any determinations; however - your nomination will be issued a staff report by this office where they will either
recommend the Commissioners take the property under consideration, or not.
